my iron woman hero

My wife Kris has had a very full plate this past few months.  In addition to being my treasured patient advocate and caregiver, she’s made sure that the kids have gotten where they want/need to.  In addition to all that, she’s continued to train for her Ironman dream, wherein she’ll do the Ironman Arizona race in November.

Naturally to prepare for such an event, she needs to practice by doing some other events first.  This weekend, she completed the Grand Columbian Half-Iron triathlon, out by the Grand Coulee Dam in north-central Washington.  While she’s done faster half-irons before, she completed this one in a very respectable 6:15.  Training up for this with everything that’s been going on around here is an amazing accomplishment.

Here’s my very thankful cheer for Kris … she’s definitely a hero of mine!
